(Back Cover)

If you’ve ever asked yourself the questions:

Why do I do that?
Why do I think that way?
Why can’t I get over this?
Why am I like this?
Why can’t I stop doing that?
Why does this keep happening?
Why does that still feel so hard?

This book is for you.

Lauren has given us a systematic and comprehensive approach to the typically abstract process of healing from past hurt and trauma. Inviting readers into her own story, Lauren unfolds the Grief Tower Model, presenting a practical guide for unstacking our own past and the ways it has informed the thoughts and actions that we live out in the present. These pages guide us through our own unstacking journey first, and then offer tools for using this method to walk adults and children through the unstacking process in a professional or informal setting.

"Practical, hopeful, and deeply relatable - this book takes the complex topic of grief processing and makes it accessible through the weaving together of real life stories with scientific data. What I appreciate most, however, is the thoughtful and compassionate way in which Lauren encourages the reader to reflect on their own grief before helping others process theirs. Lauren's writing is like a warm hug and a supportive hand leading you through your own journey towards insight, self-compassion and healing."
